Who’s a Candidate for LASIK?


The main candidates are:

- Persons aged 18 years or more for the treatment of mild myopia
- 21 years or more for those with a high degree of nearsightedness or astigmatism
- People with healthy eyes (freely) of eye diseases
- People do not change with a stable refraction (glasses or contact lenses, which rules over 0.50 diopters for the year before treatment)
- Offer people the realistic expectations of the technology has
- Knowledge of the risks and potential benefits of laser vision correction compared to other treatments

Disqualification:

- Persons under 18 years. (This is because the eyes can still grow.)
- To change the people who are refracted more drastic
- People with connective tissue diseases, autoimmune diseases, known immunodeficiency or
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with keratoconus
- People taking Accutane, Cordarone or Imitrex
- People with a history of herpes simplex and herpes zoster with eyes
