Lasik Eye Surgery FAQ

LASIK Enhancement vs Original Procedure

Improved LASIK is almost identical to a primary LASIK procedures, except for one aspect. Instead of creating a microkeratome or a laser corneal flap, the surgeon uses specialized tools to improve the performance of LASIK.

These tools are manipulated to lift the flap, which was created on the surface of your eye while your main LASIK surgery. Re-emergence of the flap is painless and usually lasts one or two minutes. Then, your doctor uses an excimer laser to reshape the cornea.

Generally require only minimal redesign of the cornea during an expansion. So laser treatment takes only a few seconds.

After expansion, you get the same post-operative who have been given by your primary LASIK procedure. Make sure you follow your doctor’s instructions to reduce the risk of eye infection and to allow good visual results.

In most cases, advanced LASIK, a procedure is only necessary to restore vision to an acceptable level. However, in difficult cases, more than an extension.
